This year was a great year for the show. We had over 50 vehicles in the show. The day started off kind of slow because of a mist in the air for the first couple of hours. There were quite a few people who did come during this time. Once the mist was gone, then the cars start coming into show.
At 10am, we had National Anthem performed by the Salem Chamber Chior followed by the Salem High School Marching Band followed by Highway 32 Bluegrass by Randy Hubbs and the gang. The fiddle player was great. The we had a Special performance by Linda Maledy and her dancing students from her acadamy who did a great job with the kids. Following the dancing, we had Second Time Around Band who did another fantastic job.
At 6pm, there was a nice turnout at Scoops Ice Cream. Talk about some good ice cream. People who came out also went out on town cruises.
On Sunday afternoon, we had a nice gathering of people who came out to cruise to Echo Bluff State Park. There were over 30 cars that participated in the cruise. We needed to have the Salem Police department and state highway patrol block off a couple of intersections so we can all get through town without being separated. A big thank you goes out them. The roads to Echo Bluff were nice and windy and hilly at times but that it that much more fun. Once we all arrived at the park, we had a nice BBQ lunch.
The proceeds from the show went to the following:Salem Band Parents – $1,000 Shepherds Nook – $125 Scholarship That Rocks – $250 Love Pack Bakpack Program – $500 Total donations – $1875
Thank you everyone who participated on the event.
