The Midwest Blue Oval Club would like to thank everyone who participated in the activities and show of the Blue Oval Rally in Hermann MO over the Memorial Day weekend. The charity recipients are the “Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer” and the “Hermann School Backpack Program”. You have helped to make this show a success. Here is a little breakdown of how everything went.
Golf Outing – The weather was great and so was the course. Several members of the club and a couple participants played a 4 man scramble and had a great time.
Reception – There was a good turnout for the reception that was sponsored by Dynacorn International. Hermann Catering provided the one of the best chicken dinners we have had in a long time with plenty of desert. If you missed it, please make it a point to come next year.
Showboat Theater Movie Night – The movie “Bullit” with Steve McQueen played on the big screen. There was a good turnout for the movie. All concessions were $1 each and sales were good. There was hum in audio portion of the movie that we tried to remove. Our apologies for the audio problem.
Decision/Confirmation – This was another great day and we had about 12 cars that participated. Some took a while and some got lost but it was all fun. Afterwards, we all gathered at the Barrel Bar for lunch to talk about how people fared on the activity.
Wine Country Cruise – A dozen cars met at Hermann Ford to go on the cruise. We departed at 2 PM and went to the Lost Creek Winery where everyone was able to taste a few samplings of different wines the proceeded on to the rest of the cruise to Marthasville and back to Hermann.
Showboat Theater Movie Night – The movie “Gone in 60 Seconds” play on the big screen. The nice people at the Showboat figured out where the hum was coming from and the sound was drastically improved.
Concert Hall – There was a big turnout to hear “The Blufftones” play your favorite music.
Car Show Time – We had total of 90 vehicles to come through the gates. There was a variety of everything Ford. There tractors, trucks, antiques, vintage, classic and late model cars. We want to thank the sponsors and vendors who helped support our show.
American National Insurance
Polar Shaved Ice
Survivor Oasis Crafting
Carroll Shelby Licensing
O’Reilly Auto Parts
Classic Design Concepts
and many other local merchants who participated in some shape or form.
Banquet – There was a total of 50 people at the banquet and once again Hermann Catering brought us some delicious roast beef, chicken and all the fixings you want. Nobody went away hungry. We had pictures from all the activities playing through the banquet. Almost everyone went home with an attendance prize.
Pub Crawl – This was a huge success. There were 30 people who took advantage of going from bar to bar to get their playing card for a hand of poker.
We will be posting the amounts to each charity here along with pictures of the check presentation in a couple of weeks. We have to wait for the bills to come in before we know those exact amounts. Please check back here often for more pictures and updates from the show.
